The Future Network for Government (FN4G)

The Cabinet Office needs to enable Public Sector organisations to migrate away from the PSN (Public Services Network) and to also ensure that the current network is fit for purpose for any organisations remaining temporarily on the PSN. You can read about this in the associated gov.uk blog post.

To help realise this goal, Cabinet Office would like to discuss, test, and iterate; technical models, service models, and ways of working, to define a new delivery model which will enable PSN users to enhance their network security posture and implement a more modern network and telecommunications services environment. This new delivery model should consider lessons learned from the years of PSN and HSCN (Health and Social Care Network) operation, and leverage Internet First based best practices.

To help facilitate the success of the new environment, an industry consultation is taking place to ensure that key areas can be rationalised and modernised – while ensuring that suppliers can realise the new requirements.
